So What can you do with Tree Braids?
I think one of the frequently asked questions about tree braids has to do with “what can you do with them once they are in” Well I like to say everything! Tree Braids are one of the most versatile styles that are out there! If you use human hair you can curl it flat iron it create a wet set and the list goes on.
Tree braids can be done with any length hair. So if your hair is long and you wanted to rock a shorter look then this can also be the style for you. I have clients who travel 5 hours to me to get this style done because of the versatility that comes along with tree braids. (And yes they travel that far with gas prices as high as they are). So you know this style is the bomb! LOL

your tree braids look great!
im wondering about something. When reading about treebraids the usual advice is 2 packs og hair (8 oz) and about 10-13 braids..
From what i can see you make more than 13 rows…Or do you make them smaller on top of head and bigger on the sides?
How long does the tree braids last?
Hi. I was wondering if treebraids could be styled in shorter styles, the shortest that I have seen so far is the shoulder length. I love the look and how versitle they look. I also need help finding someone in new jersey who can do them.
Thanks, I got my answer from a previous blog question, but do you have any pictures of short styles, hope I am not asking too much.
That is something that I will have to add to my blog! Thanks for letting me know how I can add to my pictures. Please be on the look out for some short hair styles.
What is great about tree braids is that you can do just about anything with them including short hair styles. I guess the clients that I usually get like to have their hair long and fabulous. lol.
When I do tree braids I usually do between 20-25 cornrows and I make them all the same size the style lasts longer this way and they look better. I do still use 2 packs or 8oz of hair when I do them.
Hello Kris, your pic of the tree look beautiful. Are you in the NJ/NYC area? I would like to get my hair done in a similar style.
Thanks!
Are cornrow tree braids better than individually braided ones? I have been getting individual tree braids for awhile now, but my braider says that cornrow tree braids are better, faster, and really pretty. I am just wondering, because I am scheduled to get my hair done next week and am trying to decide which technique to use. Thanks!
I think that you should try the cornrow tree braids because they are less damaging to your hair. Individual tree braids do the same amount of damage as regular micro braids. There is a lot of additional tension on each of your hair follicles, and over time it causes hair loss. The cornrow tree braids are however much more gentle on your hair. There is less stress being put on your roots and you do not have to worry about pulling the braids that are on your edges back into a ponytail. I am sure that you already know one of the worst things that you can do when you have individual braids is to put them in a ponytail because this is one of the sure fire ways to make sure that you will pull out your edges. You don’t have to worry about this with the cornrow tree braids. All in all I say give them a try. When you do shoot me another email and let me know how you liked them.

What are the styling options for synthetic hair? I know you can’t apply heat, but can you use steam rollers? What else can you do?
Also, what do you recommend for washing/conditioning and styling products while you have treebraids? Thanks!
Hello Kristen,
I recently got cornrolled tree braids in my hair. I paid $180 for the braids; was this too much money. I feel like I was ripped off? The lady knew that this was my first time rec tree braids and I feel as if she took advantage of that because I really didn’t know anything re this braiding method. I could see if I rec’d individual tree braids and paying this kind of money or a little bit more for that matter, but all she did was cornroll the hair going all the way back (about 19 cornrolls), and she didn’t even put any individuals in the back for me so I could at least wear a high pony tail. Maybe I am overreacting, but after getting them done I feel that she got over on me big time. Please let me know what you think?
Thanks
Well $180 is more then I charge…but I wouldn’t say that she ripped you off. I guess my question for you is did you like your hair when you left? Did it last? I think that when you pay hundreds of dollars for your hair if for some reason you don’t like it or if a braid comes out you should be able to go to them free of charge and have them fix it. I also think that as a client you must do your due diligence and shop around and make sure that you are getting the best deal out there. The best deal isn’t always the least inexpensive. I think about hair like I think about all purchases. I compare shop I research before I spend my well earned dollars on anything so I just encourage you to do the same with relation to your hair. All in all I think that your were charged a reasonable price as long as you didn’t have to provide the hair.
Well it depends on what you are washing or styling. Your natural hair or the hair that you have in. If you have real human hair I suggest that you use the same quality of products that you use on your natural hair as the better you care for the hair you bought the longer it will last.
Use the Brandy Pro 10 hair and then you will be able to curl with heat and then the sky is the limit with relation to styling.
I live in New Jersey and I am having a hard time finding a braid shop that can do the cornrowed tree braids. What area are you in?
Where can I find Brandy Pro 10 hair in the Atlanta area. Also, how much does it cost and do they have wet and wavy for braiding?
I would love to know where you’re located and if you know anyone near the Dayton, OH area that does Tree Braids as good as you. I have micros in right now and they’re not working for me. I’m about to take them down and I was told Tree Braids (cornrowed) are healthier for my hair. Please let me know.

Thank you for the compliment. I am not aware of anyone in your area who does them. I wish I could help more.

I am not sure where to purchase it in ATL however there are many places online that sell it. A good place to start your looking is http://www.hairsisters.com.
It is usually between $13-$20.
I am in Raleigh NC
Hello Kristen,
Where are you located in Ralaigh and what does it cost for tree braids?
