This is an excellent technique for removing the film that is often on the synthetic hair. There can be a vinegar smell left on the hair. I have a solution that takes care of that, too. You simply make another sink of lukewarm water, but this time add about 1/4 cup of inexpensive conditioner. The scent from this will make the hair smell good and get rid of the vinegar scent.

Hi, I am getting my hair braided for the first time next week and am thinking of trying this method before I get my friend to do my braids. Will my braids then smell like vinegar?
