But in case you missed it, can you believe how far Loreal went to lighten Beyonce’s skin in their ads in the September issues of Elle, Allure and Essence magazines?  The Associated Press reported,

Cosmetics giant L’Oréal says it didn’t lighten Beyoncé’s skin tone in an ad.

“We highly value our relationship with [Beyoncé]. It is categorically untrue that L’Oréal Paris altered [her] features or skin tone in the campaign for Feria hair color,” the Paris-based company said Thursday. Read more

I was fortunate enough to have had a chance to hear Michele Obama speak recently in North Carolina. Man, how good is change? For the first time in a long time, I felt inspired as an American female. Now I have nothing bad to say about Condoleeza Rice’s politics as I do not have a political opinion I care to share, but some of her hair styles were “trying” to say the least.

Michele’s styles remind me so much of “Auntie Dont Take No Mess”, but can you imagine a first lady that will “hook” her hair up on a daily basis? I hope the Obama’s win just to see what Michele will bring to the style of the white house. Dare I say she would be the most fashionable first lady since Jackie-O?

Recently I was invited to meet Kim and Wendi, the founder of Mixed Chicks at a mixer in West Hollywood. Talk about gracious and down to earth women. I was nervous, but they made me feel right at home. I don’t know about you but the pressure of speaking in front of a camera is indescribable. Anyways, their product is highly recommended for many woman of mixed ethnicities, but don’t take my word, read other reviews on the net.

As a stylist I can give all aspiring stylist one piece of advice that has served me well. Stay versatile and continue to learn. What I am really saying is that hair comes in many grades and textures. If you don’t learn how to style various styles, you will limit your potential range of clients.

Its great to see the ladies of Danity Kane getting their cheese on in front of the camera. As for their hair, I’m liking all of them. Well all of them except… my mother taught if you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say nuthin about D. Woods. I just have not been able to understand why her hair is having a scezophrenic battle. Don’t get me wrong the style is unique, but I think her face could be better suited with a short cut. Just my two, what do you think?

I count 4 weaves, all with varying degrees of success. I wish their album the best of luck as the girls seem to have genuine spirits.   Regardless of what I may say about their current look it is light years ahead of their pre-platinum days.

This is the 1st post. Glad you made it to my blog. I hope that you learn and are inspired. First post are really overrated, but I know the blog will be worth its weight in gold. How much does a blog weigh?
